Agia Aikaterini Beach in Korthi is a small beach named after the chapel of Saint Catherine located above it. It offers an excellent view of Gialos and is well-protected from the wind. Naturally, it attracts many visitors, not only for its friendly atmosphere but also because of its beach bar and nearby tavern. Children love diving from its beautiful rocks, while adults relax under the warm sun.

Tis Grias to Pidima Beach is one of the most iconic and popular beaches in Andros, located on the southeastern coast of the island. It draws attention not only for its unique beauty but also for its name and the legend behind it.

The beach is marked by a towering rock formation rising a few meters from the sand, which has become its trademark. However, the beach is somewhat difficult to access and not easy for everyone to visit. From the road, there is a short descent along a dirt path that takes about five minutes. Alternatively, visitors can reach the beach more easily by boat. Those who make the effort are rewarded with breathtaking turquoise waters and a stunning view.

The Surrounding Villages

One of the magical aspects of Ormos Korthiou is its many charming and picturesque villages. One such village is Aidonia, known for its beautiful old spring, tower houses, and the Alinos Monastery. A unique festival is also held in Kournous, above Aidonia, on August 29th.

Perched on a hillside overlooking the Aegean Sea at an altitude of 400 meters, it has a population of fewer than 250 residents. It is home to Faneromeni Castle, the village’s top attraction and one of the most remarkable sites on the island. This was the largest medieval settlement in Andros, and traces of Roman fortifications are still visible. Every year on August 15th, a festival is held in honor of the Virgin Mary. The entire area is also excellent for hiking.

Finally, the village of Syneti (or Syneti, as the locals call it) will mesmerize you with its natural surroundings and serene atmosphere. Located at the foothills of Mount Tsirovleidi, it has fewer than 150 residents and is famous for its lush green slopes and high-quality wine.
